April 2026 issue of WE ARE Magazine out now
I'm proud to launch the latest issue of WE ARE Magazine from the RPS Women in Photography Group.
This issue invites readers to take a visceral plunge into the complexities of memory, heritage, and the body. From the haunting historical echoes of Sarah Ketelaars’ cyanotypes in her recently completed project The 544 to Sarah Chandy’s exploration of generations past in pre-independence India, the features within uncover our most private, difficult stories.
There’s also a powerful thread of motherhood and collaboration, in the projects of Clair Robins and Heather Mattera. And key industry perspectives on the financial realities of modern practice and the growth found in the "juggling" of a creative life. Not to mention a significant milestone for the 40% Project, a living record of women MPs, and insider insights on the making of photobooks.
It’s all anchored by the winners of our cover photo competition. This issue’s front cover by Eleanor Church captures a "technicolour" moment of exhilaration and family resilience in the Scottish Highlands. The beautiful back cover features a reconstructed Protea plant by Anne Mason-Hoerter.
Thank you as ever to our incredible contributors and to our dedicated editorial volunteers.
Do check out the latest issue of WE ARE Magazine — my fifth as editor. The publication is free to read and enjoy on Issuu, as well as available for print-on-demand via Peecho.
