I'm happy to have launched the latest issue of WE ARE Magazine from the RPS Women in Photography Group — my sixth as editor.

In this edition, place acts as an active force rich in history, emotion, and human traces — from centuries-old windmills and arterial roads to seaside chalets. Running underneath it all is a distinctly analogue pulse and spirit of experimentation, featuring torn archival collages, river-submerged prints, alongside intimate reflections on family, grief, and motherhood.

Gracing our front cover is member-voted winner Helena Miscioscia’s brilliant portrait of her mother. Helena’s image went viral at the time of the total eclipse, and inside this issue she shares the chaotic behind-the-scenes story of how she made it. The colourful back cover, Abigail by Kristy Gosling, is part of a series honouring the historically overlooked contributions of women across the arts, science, technology and medicine.
